Ad. 2: Key Note Arla Foods:

Arla is a dairy cooperative owned by more than 8,000 farmers across seven countries in Northern Europe. Our cooperative roots go all the way back to the 1880s, and our structure means that we work collaboratively to create a sustainable long term future for dairy. Our story in Nigeria is not far off, following many years of successful trading of our dairy products like Dano milk, Lurpak, Arla Puck cream cheese to name a few, we have now expanded our business focus by establishing, in Kaduna in North-Nigeria, the first Arla owned farm in the history of our company. This farm is one of the most advanced dairy farms in Africa, if not the most advanced, and will serve as beacon for the future of dairy farming in both Nigeria and Africa. With the construction of the farm we also work with local small holder dairy farmers, organized into cooperatives, and contribute to their development by sharing knowledge on animal welfare, feed efficiency, as well as best practices for improved productivity.
